“Battle the Spiders: Pest Control Experts Recommend Using Cinnamon and Essential Oils”

Published on

Spider season is underway with larger spiders being spotted this year as summer transitions to autumn. Many are encountering these eight-legged creatures in their homes, prompting arachnophobes to seek ways to keep them at bay until around November.

Pest control experts suggest using cinnamon as a natural deterrent for spiders. The antifungal and antibacterial properties of cinnamon make it effective in repelling spiders when sprinkled around windows and doors or used in a watered-down spray.

In addition to cinnamon, other substances like lavender, peppermint, garlic, and vinegar are known to deter spiders. Youngs Pest Control recommends using essential oils like peppermint by mixing them with water and spraying the solution along baseboards, windows, and doors or placing cotton balls soaked in the mixture in pest-prone areas.
