Lil Nas X missed his pre-trial hearing in Los Angeles on September 15 due to being enrolled in an inpatient treatment program. The artist faced four felony charges last month after allegedly fleeing from police officers while found wandering the streets of Los Angeles in his underwear.
The 26-year-old was hospitalized for a suspected overdose when discovered wandering on Ventura Boulevard in his underwear early one morning. A video captured him shouting phrases and reciting song lyrics before instructing the person filming to stop.
During the recent pre-trial session, Lil Nas X’s legal team revealed he was currently receiving treatment at an out-of-state facility, according to Rolling Stone. Judge Shellie Samuels permitted him to continue treatment out of state, emphasizing the importance of his well-being.
Following the hearing, Lil Nas X’s lawyer, Drew Findling, emphasized the importance of addressing the artist’s issues for his personal and professional welfare. He reassured that Lil Nas X has a supportive network focused on his recovery.
Court documents revealed that Lil Nas X faces charges of battery on a police officer and resisting arrest. His arrest stemmed from an incident where he allegedly charged at officers and was subsequently taken into custody. He pleaded not guilty, with the next hearing scheduled for November 18.
