Reba McEntire recently shared insights on how her step-grandchildren are coping in the aftermath of their father’s passing. Brandon Blackstock, who was in a relationship with Kelly Clarkson, passed away at the age of 48 in August.
During an appearance on the Emmys red carpet, the country singer discussed the children’s resilience and support for each other as they navigate this difficult time. She mentioned that they are coming together, spending time with one another, and taking each day as it comes, relying on their faith.
Brandon had four children, two from his previous marriage – Savannah, 23, and Seth, 18 – and two with Kelly – River Rose, 11, and Remy, 9. Reba’s connection to Brandon was through her marriage to Narvel, his father, from 1989 to 2015. She also mentioned that Brandon’s brother, Shelby Blackstock, is handling the situation well.
Brandon, who worked as a talent manager, lost his battle with melanoma on August 7 after a courageous fight that lasted over three years. The family announced his passing in a statement, asking for privacy and expressing gratitude for the support received.
While Reba did not publicly pay tribute to Brandon, she acknowledged her son’s heartfelt Instagram post about him. Additionally, Reba confirmed her engagement to her long-time partner, Rex Linn, during the Emmys, heralding a forthcoming celebration for the family.
Reba and Rex have been together since 2020, coinciding with their appearances on Young Sheldon. For more showbiz news and updates, follow Mirror Celebs on various social media platforms.
