The spouse of Emmanuel Macron is preparing to submit photographic proof of her gender to a US court. Legal representatives for the French president and his wife, Brigitte, announced that they will use these photos as evidence in their defamation lawsuit against right-wing figure Candace Owens. The lawsuits, filed in July, allege that Owens spread false and damaging information that led to a global campaign of humiliation and bullying.
During an interview on the BBC’s Fame Under Fire podcast, lead attorney Tom Clare mentioned that the couple is ready to demonstrate the falsehood of Owens’ claims both broadly and specifically. Clare hinted at the use of expert scientific testimony without providing further details. When asked if the photographs would depict Mrs. Macron during pregnancy, Clare declined to elaborate but confirmed that the images would be presented in court.
Clare expressed that Owens’ remarks had deeply affected the Macrons, labeling them as “extremely upsetting.” He emphasized the emotional toll of having to present such evidence. Despite the distress, Mrs. Macron is prepared to undergo this process publicly to correct the record.
Acknowledging that the allegations had been a distraction for the French president, Clare noted that it had not derailed his focus. He emphasized that even as the leader of a nation, Macron is not immune to such challenges.
