As the holiday season approaches, many are reaching for a Terry’s Chocolate Orange, a classic treat beloved by many. This year, there’s a new option to try – the limited edition Baileys x Terry’s Chocolate Orange Irish Cream Liqueur. Combining the smooth Baileys Original Irish Cream with Terry’s signature chocolate and zesty orange, this new flavor is now available both online and in stores nationwide for £11.
Having the opportunity to sample this new concoction before the festive season, I was pleasantly surprised by one particular aspect during the taste test. While some prefer to enjoy Baileys neat over ice, I like to mix mine into a cocktail, even a simple one with milk.
To fully immerse myself in the flavor experience, I tried the Terry’s chocolate version with milk and on its own. The first thing that caught my attention was its pale cream color, contrary to my expectation of a brown hue typical of chocolate-flavored products.
Upon tasting it, the zesty orange notes were prominent, but I felt it could use more chocolate undertones, perhaps because of my fondness for chocolates. For those seeking a more chocolatey taste, mixing it with chocolate milk could be a delightful option, one that I plan to explore soon.
Despite my desire for a stronger chocolate presence, I found the product enjoyable and believe it would be a fantastic Christmas gift for a loved one or a friend. Keeping a bottle handy for post-dinner cocktails during the festive season could elevate the experience, especially when paired with whipped cream and chocolate shavings.
The new flavor has garnered excitement online since its announcement on the official Baileys Instagram page in September. Comments expressing eagerness to try it flooded the platform, with users exclaiming their anticipation and excitement for this innovative blend.
While I may not be ready to give up my Terry’s Chocolate Orange entirely, I am definitely looking forward to savoring a glass of the new Baileys version alongside it.
