The Windsor Police Service has announced that a 27-year-old man has been arrested and charged with impaired driving following a car collision into a residential property. The incident took place on Armanda Street close to Malden Road around 2:30 a.m. on Thursday, as stated in an official press release from the service.
Upon arrival, officers discovered the vehicle had crashed onto the front lawn of the house, with its front bumper in contact with the front steps. The driver was found inside the vehicle by the police. The authorities observed several indicators of potential impairment in the driver, such as bloodshot and watery eyes, slurred speech, lack of balance, and drowsiness.
Subsequently, law enforcement officers arrested the driver and transported him to the Windsor police headquarters, where he underwent a breath test revealing a blood alcohol level exceeding twice the legal limit. The individual has been formally charged with impaired driving. Fortunately, no injuries were reported in connection with the incident.
The residence sustained property damage exceeding $10,000 due to the collision.
