A powerful tornado struck the village of Pomas in southern France, causing extensive damage to over 300 homes and injuring numerous residents. Fortunately, no individuals have been reported missing in the aftermath of the disaster. According to the Aude prefecture, as of Tuesday morning, 1,400 households remained without electricity. The tornado was captured swirling above the village of Verzeille, located just a few kilometers east of Pomas, in a video shared on social media and verified by Reuters. Many homes in its path suffered broken windows.

The tornado also passed through Preixan, a nearby town north of Pomas, as shown in another verified social media video by Reuters. Following the destructive event, residents in Pomas are now assessing the damage and beginning the cleanup process.
