Curry, who suffered a stroke in 2012 and had been using a wheelchair since, rose to fame in the 1970s as the lead in the horror-comedy musical “The Rocky Horror Show” and later reprised his role in the 1975 film adaptation.

Known for his portrayal of villainous characters like Pennywise in the 1990 miniseries “It” and Rooster Hannigan in “Annie,” Curry also lent his voice to various animated children’s productions. His stage performances garnered three Tony nominations and an Emmy nod for his appearance in the horror series “Tales from the Crypt” in 1994.
