The grieving family of a 17-year-old girl who tragically passed away in Greater Manchester has fondly remembered her as a “bright, beautiful young woman.”

Following the unfortunate death of Catherine Blackhurst in Ashton-under-Lyne, Tameside, after she was reported missing on Saturday, a thorough investigation was launched by the Greater Manchester Police. Despite the efforts of emergency responders, Catherine sadly succumbed at an address on Whalley Close around 9 a.m. on Sunday. A post-mortem examination was carried out, but the exact cause of her death remains unknown.

A 55-year-old man who was taken into custody on suspicion of murder has since been released on bail pending further inquiries.
