Police have shared surveillance footage of an individual they wish to interview following an attack on a woman by an intruder who tried to enter her residence in central London. Authorities are keen to locate the man encountered by the victim in the hallway of her building on New Cavendish Street, Westminster, just before midnight. The victim confronted him, but he proceeded to her apartment, where he attempted to silence her and force his way inside. Fortunately, the woman’s partner was present and drove the intruder away. The Metropolitan Police revealed that the incident occurred on July 30.
Described as a white male, approximately 5ft 9in tall with receding hair, he was last seen wearing a grey t-shirt and blue jeans, later switching to a brown hoodie. The victim noted that he spoke with a foreign accent, possibly Scandinavian, Australian, or from New Zealand. Authorities are urging anyone who can identify the suspect or provide information to contact them at 101, referencing case number 8868/JUL, or reach out to Crimestoppers at 0800 555 111 for an anonymous report.
Detective Constable Chunjie Zang of the Met’s Central West Borough Command Unit expressed concern over the distressing incident, emphasizing that no one should feel unsafe in their own home. While no similar incidents have been reported in the area, efforts are underway to apprehend the perpetrator and seek justice. Any assistance from the public is greatly appreciated in this matter.
