Dianne Buswell, a renowned participant of the show “Strictly Come Dancing,” has hinted at a possible name for her upcoming baby boy shortly after confirming her pregnancy. The 36-year-old Australian professional dancer announced her pregnancy with her 34-year-old boyfriend, Joe Sugg, earlier this month. She is set to make history as the first pregnant contestant on the show when the new season premieres.
The couple, who met in 2018 during Joe’s appearance on the BBC program, shared the news on Instagram with an illustration showing them holding hands with a child. They captioned the post with “Our little baby boy. We cannot wait to meet you,” as reported by Wales Online.
During a podcast she co-hosts with comedian Chris McCausland, Dianne discussed potential names for their soon-to-arrive baby. She mentioned that they had considered an unconventional name for a girl, Americus, before discovering the baby’s gender. Now leaning towards naming him Christopher Anton Craig Buswell-Sugg or Christopher Craig Anton Buswell-Sugg, she humorously shared the amusing reactions she received from people suggesting they name the baby Chris.
Dianne previously mentioned in an interview with The Sun that her demanding dance career had delayed her plans to start a family but expressed her and Joe’s desire to have children. Despite the challenges of balancing her career and family life, she remains positive about the timing of parenthood.
Meanwhile, Dianne continues to compete in the ongoing season of Strictly, making history as the first pregnant professional dancer on the show. She assured fans that she is maintaining her performance levels with some added caution in lifts as advised by her doctor, who encouraged her to continue with her routine. Viewers can catch Dianne and Chris on the Strictly launch show airing tonight on BBC One at 6.40 pm.
