The Nolans are set to come together for their first public performance post the passing of sister Linda. Sisters Denise, Maureen, and Anne will grace the stage at Simply The Best, a charity concert on October 4 at Sheffield City Hall to support Weston Park Cancer Charity.
Their rendition of Tell Me It’s Not True from Blood Brothers holds sentimental value as Maureen and Denise, alongside late sisters Bernie and Linda, previously appeared in the musical in London’s West End, earning a Guinness World Record. The event will also showcase performances by Layton Williams, Dr Ranj, Janette Manrara from Strictly, Hayley Tamaddon, Sam Bailey, Zoe Tyler, and Rustie Lee.
Having witnessed the impact of cancer on their family with four sisters battling the disease, Denise, Maureen, and Anne feel a deep sense of pride in honoring their memory by raising essential funds. The concert will pay tribute to Linda, who lost her battle with incurable breast cancer in January.
The show will culminate with a special performance of I’m In The Mood For Dancing, marking Denise’s first time singing the group’s iconic hit since she departed the group before its release in 1979. Denise expressed her emotions, stating, “Cancer has profoundly affected our family, so using our voices to support others going through it is incredibly meaningful to us.”
Anne shared her sentiments, mentioning that performing Tell Me It’s Not True for the first time alongside her sisters holds immense emotional significance. The upcoming week will see The Nolans appearing at the Talking Pictures Festival of Film & TV Roadshow at Hebden Bridge Picture House on October 11. Hosted by Sherrie Hewson and Mike Read, the sisters will engage in a reflective Q&A session on their remarkable 50-year career.
Maureen reflected on their diverse showbiz journey, expressing gratitude to their devoted fans for their unwavering support throughout the years. Fans can secure their tickets for Simply The Best and Talking Pictures events for an unforgettable experience.
