A caregiver alleges that disregarding a psychic’s caution led to her sustaining a severe head injury, as the psychic supposedly foresaw her tragic fall following the consumption of rosé wine with a friend.
Hannah Roper recounts visiting a fortune teller in April 2024 who advised her against going to the nearby town of Fenton, Staffordshire, and being cautious with her drink if she did. The 24-year-old was so unsettled by the specific warning that she avoided the area for several months.
Despite this, after sharing a bottle of rosé at a pub with a friend during her day off in October of the same year, she decided to spend time at a friend’s house in the warned town. While attempting to use the restroom there, Hannah mistakenly opened the cellar door instead of the bathroom door and fell down the stairs accidentally.
Upon hearing a loud noise, her friend discovered Hannah at the foot of the stairs with injuries to her nose and ear. Subsequently, Hannah experienced periods of unconsciousness, vomiting, and was rushed by ambulance to The Royal Stoke University Hospital in Stoke-on-Trent.
Following a diagnosis of a brain hemorrhage, Hannah underwent surgery to remove part of her left skull to alleviate pressure and reduce swelling. She then wore a protective helmet for five months before having a metal plate implanted to replace the removed portion of her skull.
Medical professionals indicated that without the initial surgery, Hannah would have succumbed to her injuries. She acknowledges that a careless mistake made while under the influence nearly cost her life. Hannah now believes that the psychic’s warning to ‘watch her drink’ in Fenton was a premonition of her eventual fall.
Residing in Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire, Hannah reflected on the incident, stating that a day off work led to sharing wine at a pub, cooking dinner, and eventually visiting her friend’s boyfriend’s house where the fall occurred. She emphasized the confusion that led to her fall down the stairs and the subsequent discovery of her injuries.
As Hannah prepared for a second operation, she raised funds for Headway, a brain injury charity, after shaving her head. Despite not suffering permanent brain damage, she continues to experience fatigue and dizziness daily, with other health complications arising from the injury.
