Greater Manchester Police provided an update on the condition of two pedestrians struck by a police vehicle earlier this week. The incident occurred at 9:08 pm on Friday, September 19, resulting in a 57-year-old woman and a 58-year-old man being hospitalized. The case has been referred to GMP’s Professional Standards Directorate for investigation.

The latest update reveals that the 57-year-old woman remains hospitalized with serious injuries, while the police officer driving the vehicle is cooperating with the inquiry.

The police issued a statement on their website, stating that the collision occurred on Wigan Road in Leigh as the police vehicle was responding to another call. The woman is still being treated for serious injuries, while the man has been discharged with minor injuries.
