Newly released Jeffrey Epstein files reportedly mention Elon Musk as a possible visitor to the convicted sex offender’s private island, Little St James. Documents unveiled by Democrats on the House Oversight Committee in the US contain a schedule from December 6, 2014, noting Musk’s planned visit to the island. This revelation occurred six years after Epstein was officially registered as a sex offender. The disclosures coincide with increased scrutiny of Epstein’s associations, including the emergence of Prince Andrew’s involvement in the same files.
Individuals listed in the files were identified as Epstein’s associates, with no implication of their awareness of his illegal activities or involvement in any wrongdoing. Prince Andrew was documented as a passenger on a private flight from Teterboro, New Jersey, to Palm Beach, Florida, on May 12, 2000, alongside Epstein, his then-girlfriend Ghislaine Maxwell, a later convicted sex trafficker, and two unidentified individuals.
Though details of Prince Andrew’s flight had surfaced during Maxwell’s trial – where one accuser, aged 14 at the time, recalled flying with the duke – he maintains his innocence. Musk’s presence in the files follows a public dispute he had with Donald Trump in June, during which Musk called for Trump’s impeachment and ridiculed his connection to Epstein.
Musk had tweeted alleging that Trump is “in the Epstein files,” insinuating that this was the reason for the files not being publicly disclosed. The tweet was later deleted, leading to a temporary rift between Musk and Trump, with the latter accusing Musk of spreading misinformation. The two figures publicly reconciled in September at a memorial service for conservative activist Charlie Kirk, despite the prior tension highlighted by the Epstein files.
Furthermore, the documents include a contentious email from Sarah Ferguson, Duchess of York, apologizing to Epstein for publicly denouncing him and referring to him as a “supreme friend.” The email, written after Epstein threatened defamation action, resulted in several charities withdrawing their support for the Duchess. Epstein’s own demise in his Manhattan jail cell in August 2019, while awaiting trial on sex-trafficking charges, was ruled a suicide.
