A fresh season of the popular TV series DIY SOS is set to debut soon, featuring the return of presenter Nick Knowles and his team. The show aims to unite communities and positively impact people’s lives through various renovation projects.

Originally launched in 1999 and later rebranded as DIY SOS: The Big Build in 2010, the BBC program aired its most recent season from May to June in 2022. Following this, several special episodes were broadcast, including a collaboration with EastEnders in December 2023.

Last year, it was announced that DIY SOS would be making a comeback, and the BBC’s schedule confirms its return next month with a new series comprising four episodes scheduled to premiere on October 3.

Additionally, a special episode in partnership with BBC Children In Need and Morning Live is slated to air in November during the charity’s initiative week. The new series kicks off with a visit to Leicester to assist seven-year-old Isla, who has a rare genetic condition and dreams of living more independently at home.

The upcoming episode presents a significant challenge for Nick and the team as they tackle limited space and a lengthy list of custom adaptations, including the need for accessible furniture. Nick’s updates on the show’s progress have kept fans informed, with a recent announcement in March confirming the ongoing filming of the new series.

Fans have eagerly anticipated the show’s return, expressing excitement and anticipation for the upcoming episodes. DIY SOS is scheduled to premiere on BBC One and BBC iPlayer at 8 pm on October 3, with a special Children In Need episode airing in November during the fundraising week.
