Max George, a member of the band The Wanted, has been admitted to the hospital once again after undergoing multiple heart surgeries. The 37-year-old musician had a pacemaker implanted in December 2024 during an emergency procedure, which revealed a heart block. Since then, he has been in and out of the hospital, recently undergoing another operation to correct the positioning of his pacemaker wires.
Despite his health challenges, Max remains optimistic about his upcoming tour. He shared a picture on Instagram on Thursday, jokingly mentioning needing some maintenance before heading to the USA for the next leg of the tour with The Wanted 2.0, a duo comprising Max and his bandmate Siva Kaneswaran.
The band’s first stop in Orlando, Florida, is pending confirmation, as they previously had to cancel a concert in Manchester due to Max’s health issues. Max expressed disappointment over postponing the Manchester show but assured fans that they would reschedule it soon.
Max has been candid about his recovery journey, sharing updates on social media. He recounted the challenges of facing a second operation and the risks involved, but expressed gratitude for the support of his loved ones, including his bandmate, mother, and girlfriend Maisie Smith.
In a recent post from the hospital, Max appeared more relaxed, indicating he was ready to get back on stage soon. Despite setbacks, he remains determined to return to performing for his fans.
