Sky has revealed an exciting new update that is set to make waves in the streaming world. The company has announced a comprehensive subscription plan that combines several popular streaming services at a reduced monthly price. Priced at just £24 per month, customers, both new and existing, will soon have access to a bundle that includes Disney+, Netflix, Hayu, and the upcoming HBO Max app.
According to Sky, this bundled offering provides great value for money, offering approximately £20 worth of streaming apps for a lower cost. Considering that Sky’s current basic plan costs £15 per month, the additional content effectively comes at just a £9 extra charge.
Moreover, subscribers to the Ultimate TV plan will enjoy access to over 130 channels, featuring channels like Sky Comedy, Sky Documentaries, Sky Crime, and Sky History, among others.
Additionally, Sky Cinema users will benefit from a dedicated Disney movie channel integrated into the planner. This feature allows users to watch Disney blockbusters without needing to open the Disney+ app.
Existing Disney+ subscribers who sign up through Sky can seamlessly transfer their current plan, whether Standard or Premium, while retaining their profiles and viewing history.
Sky has confirmed that all supported apps will be easily accessible from the homepage, offering fully integrated content. This means users can utilize voice search to find shows and movies and save them to a Playlist for future viewing.
The new Sky Ultimate plan will be available across Sky Glass, Sky Stream, and Sky Q platforms.
Sophia Ahmad, Sky’s Chief Consumer Officer, described the update as a “new era” for Sky and NOW, uniting Sky, Netflix, Disney+, HBO Max, and Hayu under a single subscription. She emphasized that customers will enjoy an integrated viewing experience and exceptional value, with HBO Max being included at no additional cost for NOW Entertainment subscribers.
Sky’s move underscores its commitment to innovation, streamlining the process for viewers to access premium entertainment in one convenient location.
Included in the update are:
– Netflix Standard with Ads
– Disney+ Standard with Ads (from March, specific date pending)
– HBO Max Basic with Ads (launching in the UK & Ireland on 26th March)
– Hayu (available from July, with select top shows accessible from March)
– Plus: Over 130 channels from Sky
