Virgin Media is introducing a major upgrade to its TV platform, offering customers three new bonus channels at no additional cost. These channels, provided by Rakuten, bring an array of drama, comedy, and sci-fi content to viewers’ living rooms.

The new channels include Rakuten TV Drama on channel 462, featuring popular movies like The Big Short, Gosford Park, and JFK. Rakuten TV Comedy on channel 463 offers films such as Big Momma’s House, The Internship, and Bedazzled for viewers to enjoy. For sci-fi enthusiasts, Rakuten TV: Sci Fi on channel 464 promises a wide selection of otherworldly content.

The upgrade will be automatically available to Virgin TV 360 and Flex customers, with no action required on their part. The channels are easily accessible through Virgin Media’s TV guide and can be found using voice control.

David Bouchier, Chief TV and Entertainment Officer at Virgin Media O2, expressed excitement about the new streaming channels, emphasizing the value they bring to customers. With these additions, Virgin TV customers now have access to a total of 40 FAST channels, enhancing their entertainment options.

While Virgin Media TV requires a monthly subscription fee, the addition of these new channels significantly enhances the viewing experience compared to free services.
